Yamunotri is the source of the River Yamuna, an old temple dedicated to goddess Yamuna, situated at an elevation of about 3,235 mts. Yamunotri finds a special mention in the hindu mythology. |

Gangotri glacier lies at a height of 4138 mts and extends as far as Gaumukh. The River Ganga, here known as Bhagirathi, gently comes out of the Glacier in the form of a stream. An 18th century temple dedicated to the goddess Ganga, Stands on the Right Bank. |

Kedarnath at the head of the Mandakini Valley is one of the most sacred temples of Lord Shiva. inside the temple Shiva is symbolized by a huge rock representing the hindquarters of a divine buffalo. |

Badrinath is the resting-place of Lord Vishnu at a height of 3122 mts. At the back of the temple is the shining pyramid the Neelkanth peak. On either side the snow bound mountains, 'Nar and Narayan' guard the temple. |
